Before & After: Summer to Fall Style
Posted on 18 September 2019
It's time for a fresh new season. With the kids finally settled in school and a brand-new Zeena Active collection underway, we're so excited to start mixing, matching, and having fun with our wardrobe again. Now that the summer heatwaves are over and cooler temps are here, Fall is the perfect time of year to experiment with layering...yet all too often, we find ourselves in waaaaay too much of a hurry to pack away our summer clothes. Today on the blog, we're exploring 3 fabulous transitional looks with Zeena CEO Bayan Jondy to discover how to extend your warm-weather attire well past Columbus Day.
“When thinking about your Fall wardrobe, you don't actually have to buy a whole new one,” says Bayan. “Add pieces that transition and build your current wardrobe rather than starting over. In the end, you’ll end up with a more sophisticated cohesive wardrobe you’ll love.” So, if wide-leg jeans aren't something you usually wear, it's time to add them to your Fall Wishlist! (Click here to see everything on our list.) There's something about a loose, comfortable pair of jeans that makes us feel timeless & trendy. With just the right boxy blouse and travel-friendly accessories, we took this summer look with us to London and Paris. Now that it's autumn, slip into a cozy trench, swap the backpack for a carry-all tote and rock your favorite pair of boots.
We’re always in the mood for monochrome. Crank up the color with the Ray Classic Top & Trousers in vibrant indigo. In the summer, we loved this matching set styled with a skinny belt, sandals, and a knock-out printed wrap. Make this look fall chic with a simple change of footwear, a bold motorcycle jacket adds just the right amount of attitude, and a blanket scarf...you're all set to go!
Who says you can't have it all? Our Ray Classic Skirt in emerald is probably the most versatile piece in our closet. Dress it up or down, this all-weather essential adds an unexpected dose of color to your everyday style. Look amazing in the summertime with a nude heel and flare-sleeved top. In the Fall, bundle-up with a faux fur sweater, then open up a few buttons to show off those knee-high boots!
No matter your Fall style, get creative with your layered looks by keeping those summer clothes on rotation. You'd be surprised at how many new outfit combinations you'll think of!
