At-Home Family Fun Night Ideas

In our home, Family Fun Night is serious business! We make a point to gather everyone together after a long week to unplug, unwind and pretend like the power is out. With so many distractions in our daily life, from traffic to phone interruptions and endless text messages, it's not often we find time to connect on a personal level with the ones we love. That's why today on Zeena Uncovered, we're taking time out from the hustle and bustle to pop some popcorn and break out the games! So, whether you are spending time with your kids or getting together with friends, in this post, you're sure to find something to get everyone excited for a relaxing evening of fun!

Make a Movie Trailer | Write down five movie titles and mix them up in a bowl. Choose one at random to make your own DIY movie trailer! Have fun doing each other's makeup and designing creative costumes to act out your sneak preview and then debut your masterpiece for the whole family to enjoy!

Baking Buddies | Phone a friend and get baking! We love letting the kids invite their cousins or classmates over and pulling out the old family recipes. Even if you're not a master chef, baking brownies, cookies or cupcakes with friends brings everyone to the table with a smile on their face.

At-Home Movie Night | Transform your living room into a movie theater, complete with tickets, candy concessions and fresh popcorn! Put your feet up and enjoy a cozy evening in your pajamas and away from the crowds. Movie nights are one of our favorite no-prep activities and are made extra special when everyone brings a treat!

Monopoly Deal | The "light" version of traditional Monopoly, Monopoly Deal can be played in 15 minutes or less and doesn't require a banker, messy money shuffling or any tiny pieces. Use the cards to buy real estate, add hotels or collect rent. And there's no need to worry about 'get out of jail free cards' because the first person with 3 complete property sets wins!

Banangrams | Like Scrabble, only faster. If you enjoy word games and a sprinkling of education, Bananagrams is a perfect for groups or small teams. With no board and no points, it's a race against the clock to build crossword-puzzle-style combinations any which way you can. Plus, the tiles come in a cute banana-shaped pouch that's simply irresistible!

UNO | A family classic, UNO is one of those card games that makes a home collection complete. Not only are the rules easy enough - the first person to get rid of all their cards wins - you can add as many players as you like (or even combine decks if you want to take things to another level!). Oh, and remember to play nice...apparently it's illegal to stack Draw +4 and Draw +2 cards back to back, sorry guys!

Taboo | If your crew isn't afraid of a little friendly competition, Taboo is THE go-to game for getting everyone up on their feet and laughing. And that buzzer! Who can resist the joy of calling out the opposite teams' hilarious mistakes?

Cooking Together | Tie on your aprons and get ready to prepare a healthy meal with your entire family! Cooking together might seem like a hassle after a long day, especially when all you want to do is order a pizza...but, on a lazy Sunday, when everyone is hanging out in the kitchen, seize the opportunity for a memorable bonding experience. Keep the little ones safe with this adorable hand chopper and get cooking! (*In case you missed it, we highly recommend the Baked Kafta with Rice from our Healthy Comfort Food post!).
