3 Inspiring Looks to Wear on Eid al-Fitr
Posted on May 31 2019
We love the joy and excitement these final days of Ramadan bring. It was such a blessing to have experienced this beautiful month again -- sharing meals with family and friends, staying up to the wee hours of the night reading and reflecting, starting healthy new habits, and taking a deeper look inside ourselves to reconnect with our faith. Even though it's heartbreaking to say farewell to Ramadan, with Eid al-Fitr fast approaching, it's easy to get distracted by all the gift wrapping, cooking, shopping, and a million other things to do, that we sometimes overlook taking a moment out for ourselves. In our home, planning our Eid outfits is something fun we like to do every year that helps us slow down, spend a little time together, and look at our closet in a whole new way. If you're on the hunt for what to wear for Eid al-Fitr, we've put together three head-to-toe looks with Zeena CEO Bayan Jondy to inspire your style. And we have a special announcement to make that you won't want to miss!
Look #1
Ever since Diane von Furstenberg first invented the wrap dress in 1974, we believe this flattering & feminine classic is a must-have in every woman's closet. A wrap dress is an icon of American fashion that can be worn day or night, to formal occasions or out to brunch with the girls. As one of the most versatile styles of dresses, the deep V-neck could present itself as a problem depending on your point of view, but with the right Base Layer, you can make any neckline modest in a snap. For this first look, we love how Bayan created a prim & polished focal point with an embellished Rhinestone Collar from our Eid Collection. The sparkling jewels draw the eye upwards toward her face where she keeps her hijab neutral. This simple and elegant ensemble is perfect for an evening Eid dinner.
Look #2
When in doubt...neutrals. There's nothing quite like an understated black & white combination to steal the show. For our second Eid look, Bayan has styled a springy daytime ensemble, pairing the Block Hi-Lo Tunic in Canvas with wide leg trousers (*similar) and our black Rhinestone Wrap. Add a contrasting heel for a pop of color and you'll look effortlessly put together.
Look #3
Not in the mood for neutrals? Color blocking is a fantastic option and easier than you might think! The trick here is to wear large "blocks" of color and downplay your accessories as much as possible by keeping them...you guessed it, neutral! For this last look, we broke out the color wheel and chose two complementary hues: purple and yellow. Using the Ray Classic Top in Indigo as our regal tone, Bayan placed it with a sunny pair of trousers and a wild zebra print hijab...(but the InstaHijab in Silk Floss looks equally amazing).
No matter your Eid style, the point is to play with your wardrobe and see your clothes in a different light. Whether you add a modest touch to your dresses with a rhinestone collar, play it cool with neutrals, or turn up the volume with color blocking, have fun with your Eid outfits! And remember to take a moment from these last few precious days of Ramadan out for you.
"As we say goodbye to this blessed month, let us remember each other in our prayers. For that is the best gift we can give each other. From our family to yours, wishing everyone a wonderful Eid filled with laughter, food and friends! Eid Mubarak!" -- CEO Bayan Jondy
